7 v 7 lineup builder: Your 7 v 7 lineup. Formation, subs and a matchday sheet.

7 players a side on a pitch of about 55 × 37 m. Pick a formation like 2-3-1, drag your squad into place and let the substitution plan share the minutes fairly.

How to make a lineup

  1. 01

    Pick the format

    From 11 v 11 down to 5 v 5, each with the formations youth and adult teams use, like 4-3-3, 3-3-2 for 9 v 9 or 2-3-1 for 7 v 7.

  2. 02

    Add your squad

One player per line, with a shirt number if you like (“7 Sam”). The first players fill the pitch; the rest sit on the bench.

  3. 03

    Put players in place

Tap a player, then another, to swap them, or bring someone on from the bench. Drag a player to move their spot.

  4. 04

    Plan the subs and share

Set the match length and how often you change. Save the lineup as an image, print it, or send the link to your team.

What it does

Fair playing time

The substitution plan rotates the bench so every player gets close to equal minutes, and changes the keeper at half-time if you want.

Every position, not just the bench

Players who come on take the spot whose role they’ve played least, so over a match they get time in defence, midfield and attack.

Youth formats

9 v 9, 8 v 8, 7 v 7, 6 v 6 and 5 v 5 on pitches sized for them, alongside 11 v 11.

Questions about the lineup builder

Which formation is best for 7 v 7?

2-3-1 and 3-2-1 are common choices: 2 at the back, 3 in midfield and 1 up front in a 2-3-1. Try both on the pitch; the builder shows each one at once.

Can I plan rolling substitutions for 7 v 7?

Yes. Set the match length (the builder suggests 50 minutes) and how often you change; the plan gives everyone about equal minutes. Check your league's rules, they differ.

Is the lineup builder free?

Yes. There is no account, no limit and no ads. It runs in your browser.

How does the substitution plan work?

You set the match length and how often you change, for example every 10 minutes. The plan then picks who comes on and off at each change so minutes stay as equal as the squad allows. Players keep their spot when they stay on, and players coming on take the role they have played least.

Can I plan a different goalkeeper for the second half?

Yes. Pick the second-half keeper under the substitution plan; the first-half keeper then joins the outfield rotation.

Which formation is best for 7 v 7 or 9 v 9?

For 7 v 7, 2-3-1 is the common choice: two defenders, a midfield three and one striker, with width from the wide midfielders. For 9 v 9, 3-3-2 or 3-2-3 keep a back three and give every player a clear role. Try them on the pitch and see what suits your squad.

How do I share the lineup with my players?

Copy the link or send it through WhatsApp; the link opens the same lineup. Or save it as an image and post that in the team chat.

Is my squad list stored anywhere?

No. The lineup lives in your browser and in the link you share. We don’t receive or store the names.
