How to use the tactics board
- 01
Set up the pitch
Pick the format, full or half pitch, and line up each team in a formation. Or clear the board and place players one by one.
- 02
Draw the movement
Solid arrows for runs, dashed for passes, a wave for a dribble. Mark spaces with a zone and add a word or two of text.
- 03
Adjust as you talk
Drag players and arrows around, rename a player with a double tap, and undo anything with one press.
- 04
Save or send it
Save the board as an image for a presentation or the team chat, print it, or share a link that opens the same board.
What’s on the board
Both teams and the ball
Two teams in your colours, a ball and cones for drills, with numbers or names on every player.
Runs, passes, dribbles, zones
The marks coaches use, in six colours, drawn by dragging. Zones sit under the players so everything stays readable.
11 v 11 to 5 v 5
Pitch sizes for every format, so a 7 v 7 session looks like the pitch your team plays on.
Half-pitch view
Zoom to the attacking half for set pieces, build-up patterns and finishing drills.
Share without an account
The link carries the whole board. Nothing is stored on our servers.
Grass, dark or print
A grass pitch for screens, a dark one for slides, and a white one that prints cleanly.
Questions about the tactics board
Is the tactics board free?
Yes. There is no account, no limit and no ads. It runs in your browser.
Does it work on a phone or tablet?
Yes. Tap to place and drag to draw or move; the board scales to the screen. On a phone, turn it sideways for the most room.
How do I draw a pass or a run?
Pick Pass or Run and drag from where the move starts to where it ends. Pass draws a dashed arrow, Run a solid one and Dribble a wave.
Can I save my tactics?
Your last board stays in this browser. To keep more, save each one as an image, or copy its link: the link holds the whole board and opens it again.
Can I use it for futsal or small-sided games?
Yes. Pick 5 v 5 for futsal and small-sided games, or 6 v 6 to 9 v 9 for youth formats.
